I need 4 new summer tires (been putting it off due to the expense, if you're wondering why I'm doing this half way through June  )

I have rims and need tires to fit them, or.... ?

the tire size for the rims I have are P195/50R16

Crappy tire doesn't have any in stock, but can order, though pricey.

Should I a) downgrade to a P195/55R15 (same as winter tires/rims) so that I don't have to pay so bloody much for the tires or b) look around for cheaper tires and just get them put on at Crappy Tire (only because it's convenient and relatively cheap)

One reason I'm stuck on Crappy Tire is that I have nearly $300 in gift cards that I can put towards the purchase, but at the prices I was quoted, that'll only buy 1-1/2 tires ;)

Suggestions of places to buy tires? And maybe how/where to sell rims if I downgrade?

Thanks!

after searching the city for the day, there's no way I'm going to put those same type of tires on my car.

Anyone interested in some custom rims?

I'll take some pics and post them here.

Last time I put new rubber on my vehicle, I went down to Walmart in Fort Drum and it was almost half of the cheapest price that I could find in Kingston. ($710 here, $360 there for OEM tires, all in). Just another option that you might not have considered. I would prefer to support local businesses, but my loyalty ceases at about 15% price difference.

We're just going to go with P195/55R15 for summer and winter tires. Again, I have over $300 in Crappy Tire gift cards, so that'll take the price down by about 1/2.

On that note, anyone know of someone that might want some P195/50R16 Mazda rims? And how much I might get for them?

(pics coming when the rain stops)
