yes. i loved it! will go again to see it. plot is somewhat standard faire and predictable. visuals are absolutely stunning in 3d. its the only way to see it. Might even take a trip to Ottawa or T.O. to check it out on IMAX.

I agree!

I absolutely loved everything about! I too would also LOVE to see it in IMAX :)

P.S. - I think Kingston could sustain an IMAX imo lol

I just got back from Ottawa where I was Avatar in IMAX 3D.

I was completely blown away how normal conventional theater 3D doesn't remotely compare to IMAX 3D. The picture wasn't choppy at all and was crystal clear. Not to mention the sound was so very full, deep and overall spectacular. You literally haven't seen Avatar until you've seen it in IMAX 3D.

Lmao that's an interesting typo. However, it certainly does the movie justice :)

That's 2 Golden Globes for the beast:

-Best Picture
-Best Director

Now to see how many oscars it'll win
Not to mention it being ~$240 million away from passing Titanic in the worldwide box-office ;)

I was surprised to hear just a couple of days ago that some of the shows at the Cineplex are still sold out. Is this still Kingston? where movies only stay for a week if you're lucky?

Yes it still sells out in Kingston :O. A friend of mine has tried 5 times in the last week and a half to see it with no luck. It's really no surprise considering it just made roughly $53 million on its fifth weekend :P

finally made it to see it at teh IMAX in Gloucester. A small difference in 3d quality, but noticeable... clearer sharper image. that was my second time seeing it... not sure if I have a 3rd 3hr stint in me.

... though I heard today that if ticket prices are adjusted for inflation, Gone With The Wind is still on top.

Also, there was a little something about how Avatar had several additional (higher) ticket price ranges (3D and IMAX) that the Titanic didn't have.

For sure, very surprising how strong it's still going. James Cameron definitely has done it again. Not to mention how it has reached $2.5 billion worldwide :P
